Show 055 Artist of the Week: Linkin Park @linkinpark
Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California. Formed in 1996, the band rose to international fame with their debut album Hybrid Theory, which was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005 and multi-platinum in several other countries.
In July 2011, Bennington told Rolling Stone that Linkin Park aims to produce a new album every eighteen months, and that he would be shocked if a new album did not come out in 2012.
He later revealed in another interview in September 2011 that the band was still in the beginning phases of the next album, saying “We just kind of began. We like to keep the creative juices flowing, so we try to keep that going all the time…we like the direction that we’re going in.”
From their latest album “Living Things” here is “Lost in the Echo”
Have you tried to run System Shock 2 recently? Let me tell you, it ain’t pretty. Frame rate struggles, high resolutions make it look terrible, and crashing abounds. Thief 2 is the same way. Grinspoon are an Australian rock band from Lismore, New South Wales formed in 1995 and fronted by Phil Jamieson on vocals and guitar with Pat Davern on guitar, Joe Hansen on bass guitar and Kristian Hopes on drums. Also in 1995, they won the Triple J-sponsored Unearthed competition for Lismore, with their post-grunge song “Sickfest”. Their name was taken from Dr. Lester Grinspoon an Associate Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, who supports marijuana for medical use.
American rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 2001 and founded by members Brent Smith (vocals), Brad Stewart (bass), Jasin Todd (guitar), and Barry Kerch (drums). A few line-up changes followed, and the band’s current line-up consists of Smith and Kerch, the band’s only two remaining original members, with guitarist Zach Myers and bassist and pianist Eric Bass.
The Heavy play a mix of guitar-heavy neo soul and rock using crunchy guitar, funky horns, and Curtis Mayfield-like vocals. Their songs incorporate many different styles; for example, “Sixteen” samples the horn line from Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’s “I Put a Spell on You”. “How You Like Me Now?” samples the song “Let a Woman Be a Woman” by Dyke & the Blazers. “Oh No! Not You Again” emulates garage rock; and “Girl” is a combination of spoken word and rap.
